Kyle Ray is a fifth-generation Kenyan, born and raised in Nairobi, whose lifelong fascination with the natural world has transformed into a unique, expert-led wildlife experience.

His early years were shaped on a family farm in Tanzania where, under the guidance of his grandfather and a Tindiga bushman, he learned bush skills, animal behaviour, and a profound respect for nature.

By age 12 he was already spending time at the Watamu Snake Farm in Kilifi County, nurturing his passion for snakes and gaining early hands-on experience.  Over the years he honed his skills, handling venomous species, attending conferences, and becoming a respected voice in herpetology and snake-bite prevention.

Today, Kyle leads all sorts of safaris across Kenya and if your looking for a thrill of an adventure his specialty is in 'Snake' and 'Macro' safaris across some of Kenya’s most rich and varied habitats.

His tours are far from ordinary wildlife safaris: they are deeply immersive, scientifically grounded, and conservation-driven. He takes small groups into habitats like the forested Kakamega Forest, the arid rocks of Rukinga  Conservancy, and the coastal ecosystems of Kenya.

What sets his safari apart:

  • You’ll gain direct access to knowledge from a guide who lives and breathes this field—someone who has managed snake farms, relocated snakes, and contributed to community education and venom research.

  • The experience goes beyond “spotting” — you learn about ecology, animal behaviour and getting up close to the creatures which are often looked over.

  • By participating in one of Kyles safaris, you’re supporting conservation-oriented initiatives: research, community education and human-wildlife conflict mitigation — all driven by Kyle’s dedication.

If you’re drawn to a wildlife experience that’s rare, educational, heart-racing at times, and grounded in real conservation work, Kyle Ray’s safari is the kind of journey that reshapes how you view nature’s hidden side.

You can hire Kyle as a private guide to join you on your own itinerary, book a private safari with him, or if you're a solo traveler, book onto one of the fixed departure trips he hosts each year.
